Toll Group has committed to an initial 12 year pre-lease on a purpose built 10,250sqm cross dock, regional logistics facility, which will service the Group’s Gold Coast and northern NSW customers. The pre-commitment marks the first stage of development works on the 22 hectare Gold Coast Logistics Hub, with Toll Group CEO, Michael Byrne, joining LOGOS and Partners Group on site this morning to officially break ground on the facility.
The Gold Coast Logistics Hub is located on Captain Cook Drive in Arundel with excellent exposure on Captain Cook Drive with direct access to the Gold Coast Highway. The Hub has the capacity to accommodate up to 100,000sqm of gross lettable area (GLA), and LOGOS is currently in discussions with a number of tenants on the available space.
LOGOS Joint Managing Director, John Marsh said: “We’re excited to be extending our strong relationship with Toll into Queensland, having developed quality logistics facilities for them across NSW and Victoria. Partnership is key to our business as we actively work with our tenant customers to support their growth strategies, and moving into the Gold Coast market with Toll is an exciting step for our business.
“The Gold Coast Logistics Hub represents the last scalable infill site in central Gold Coast and is a strategic site that will enable us to meet the growing demand from our customers and local occupiers for quality facilities in the region. The Hub provides Toll and our future tenants at the site with excellent transportation links so they can service the Gold Coast and Northern NSW regions, which boast a population of 938,000,” Mr Marsh added.
Toll Group Managing Director, Michael Byrne, said: “We’re pleased to be partnering again with LOGOS to develop our new Gold Coast facility. This commitment is an important move for Toll as it enables us to consolidate several existing facilities in the region, bringing our people and business offering together in one modern, efficient facility with excellent transport links to service the Gold Coast and northern NSW regions.”
Partners Group, the global private markets investment manager (acting on behalf of its clients), and LOGOS together acquired the Gold Coast Logistics Hub site in December 2017. The masterplanned layout provides flexible design and construct solutions from 3,000sqm to 30,000sqm, with a total GLA of up to 100,000sqm. The site also has surplus land that LOGOS may look to subdivide and sell in the future.
Infrastructure works for the site have commenced and construction of the Toll Group facility is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2019.
LOGOS has recently expanded into the New Zealand market with its Australian and New Zealand development pipeline standing at over A$2 billion across projects in New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and Auckland. This includes the 25 hectare Heathwood Logistics Estate in Brisbane with the recently completed the Ashai Beverages facility and Hilton Food Group’s facility which is currently under development.
